Benidorm holidays & festivals calendar

Benidorm's calendar is genuinely full — between national, regional, and local holidays, there's rarely a long stretch without something worth knowing about, whether you're planning travel, expecting shops to close, or just want to join in.

January – March

• Jan 1 — New Year's Day. National holiday.
• Jan 5–6 — Cabalgata de Reyes / Epiphany. A colourful evening parade the night before, then a national holiday on the 6th — bigger for many Spanish families than Christmas Day itself.
• Late Feb/early March — Carnival. Parades and costumes across the neighbourhoods.
• March 16–19 — Fallas (Benidorm's own, plus the famous Valencia version nearby). Elaborate monuments, fireworks (mascletà), and the final burning (cremà). Valencia's Fallas — about 1.5 hours away — is a UNESCO-recognised event if you want to make a day of it.
• March 19 — Saint Joseph's Day / Father's Day. Widely observed regional holiday.
• Late March/April — Semana Santa (Holy Week). Processions and a noticeably busier tourist season.

April – June

• Late April/early May — Festa de la Creu (Cross Festival). Flower crosses and traditional music.
• June 23 — Nit de Sant Joan (St. John's Night). One of the year's best nights on Benidorm's beaches — bonfires, and a genuinely festive atmosphere along the seafront.

October – November

• Oct 1–4 — Moros y Cristianos (Moors and Christians). Elaborate costumed parades re-enacting historical battles — one of the most visually spectacular festivals in the region.
• Oct 9 — Valencian Community Day. Regional holiday.
• Oct 12 — Spain's National Day. National holiday.
• Nov 1 — All Saints' Day. National holiday.
• Second week of November — Fiestas Patronales (Benidorm's Major Patron Saint Festivities). The town's biggest local celebration, honouring Our Lady of Suffrage and Saint James — worth building your calendar around if you're here.
